The European Banking Authority (EBA) revealed a Choice setting out the procedural features associated to the importance evaluation of asset-referenced tokens (ARTs) and e-money tokens (EMTs) and the switch of supervisory tasks, together with the institution of supervisory schools for important ARTs (s-ARTs) and important EMTs (s-EMTs).
The Markets in Crypto Property Regulation (MiCAR) units out a brand new supervisory regime for ART and EMT issuers, which incorporates significance assessments and reassessments of ARTs and EMTs by the EBA, switch of supervisory tasks from nationwide competent authorities to the EBA and the institution of supervisory schools for s-ARTs and s-EMTs.

The EBA Choice EBA/DC/558 was adopted on the idea of Articles 35 and 44 of Regulation (EU) No 1093/2010 (EBA Regulation), and Articles 43, 44, 56, 57, 117, 119 of Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 (MiCAR).
