JERUSALEM (Reuters) – Air raid sirens sounded throughout central Israel on Saturday together with in Tel Aviv and enormous bangs have been heard after a missile was fired from Yemen and intercepted, the Israeli navy stated.
Yemen’s Houthi militants stated later that they fired a ballistic missile at Ben Gurion Worldwide Airport close to Tel Aviv.
They stated the assault was timed to coincide with the arrival of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who returned to the nation on Saturday after addressing the United Nations Common Meeting on Friday.
This marks the second time in lower than two days that the Houthis have launched an assault at Israel, following the interception of one other missile early on Friday.
The Houthi motion earlier mourned Hezbollah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, its ally in an Iran-backed alliance opposing Israel, following his demise in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut.
