(Reuters) – The U.S. Federal Commerce Fee (FTC) on Monday sued knowledge dealer Kochava Inc, alleging that the corporate offered knowledge that tracks folks at reproductive well being clinics, locations of worship and different a number of delicate places.
The lawsuit seeks to halt Kochava’s sale of delicate geolocation knowledge and requires the corporate to delete the delicate geolocation info it has collected, the FTC stated.
“The FTC alleges that by promoting knowledge monitoring folks, Kochava is enabling others to establish people and exposing them to threats of stigma, stalking, discrimination, job loss, and even bodily violence,” it stated in an announcement.
Privately held Kochava didn’t instantly reply to a Reuters request for remark.
